Competitive Priorities

Competitive priorities refer to the critical dimensions that a process or supply chain must possess to satisfy its internal and external customers, both now and in the future. Building a strong and strategic foundation of competitive capabilities allows firms to have an advantage over the saturated market. The restaurant's success can be attributed to its focus on the priorities as ordered as follows: quality, cost, flexibility, innovativeness, delivery performance.

Delivering a top quality service process is most vital competitive priority because Piero’s makes a statement that each dish includes fresh ingredients that are made to order. One of the restaurant’s key elements is to provide local and organic products for their customers. Piero’s strives to maintain and exceed consumer’s expectations, especially in regards to the dishes. Consistency is key to maintain success of Piero’s. A vital component is having a hands-on manager who oversees every aspect of the kitchen, from the way raw food is stored to how chefs execute the courses.

Affordable and competitive costs are also essential for Piero’s. The restaurant industry is extremely difficult to compete in; therefore, Piero’s must limit its product range and purchase high volume products. By solely offering an Italian flare menu, the staff only needs to be well-versed in Italian cuisine.

Flexibility is evident for Piero’s survival especially in regards to inflow of customers from weekdays to weekends. Similar to most restaurants, Piero’s tends to be busier on Friday and Saturday nights. It is necessary for not only the FOH staff to be capable of maintaining their composure but also the BOH employees to cultivate a swift transformation to the influx of patrons.

Consumers are attracted to firms that are innovative and stand apart from the pact. Piero’s integrates innovativeness by implementing daily food and drink specials. While there is a core emphasis on family style dining, there is more importantly a concentration on modern Italian twists. Piero’s is known for its ability to transform a traditional Italian dish into a contemporary combination of the two styles.

Delivery performance is initiated by superb customer service. Because eating is such a personal experience, excellent customer service is essential for Piero’s to gain a competitive advantage. Service beings as soon as the customer enters the establishment. The hostess is responsible for immediately welcoming the guests and creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Servers are trained to greet and interact with customers in a pleasant and professional manner while simultaneously being informative. Performance is also enhanced by suggesting the best appetizers, entrĂ©es and desserts to improve their salesAt all times, servers are considerate of the needs of their tables. They are constantly aware of whether the tables need food or drinks, if the plates need clearing, and if the patrons have any questions or concerns.
